Kachinas Development Program
Our mission is to create an opportunity for every girl in Arizona to safely play girls hockey at her appropriate age and skill level while developing a lifelong love of the game. We are committed to the development and success of every player from 8U-19U, from Development to Tier I.
With partnerships with local rinks, the Arizona Kachinas Development program plays games in local house rinks include the following age groups: Mites (8U/10U), Squirts (10U/12U), Peewee (12U/14U).

The 2025-2026 Season is right around the corner! We are introducing a Development Camp for all families looking for additional ice time leading into Development Evals!
Dev Camp and Evals will be at the Coyotes Community Ice Center.

Frequently Asked Questions
What are the requirements to join the Kachinas Development Program?
To join the Kachinas Development Program, players must have completed at least one year of a "Learn to Play" or "Learn to Skate" program. Evaluations for the upcoming season will be held a few months before the season begins to confirm roster placement.
What rinks have a Kachinas Development team?
The Kachinas have Dev teams that run out of AZ Ice Peoria, AZ Ice Gilbert, Ice Den Scottsdale and Ice Den Chandler
Do the Kachinas supply the gear to play?
The Kachinas do not provide any protective equipment or base-layer clothing. Game jerseys and socks are supplied only after registration is complete.
How often are practices and games?
In the Kachinas Development Program, players will have one practice and one game per week at their designated home rink. In addition, they have the option to participate in a skills skate every other Tuesday. Once a month, players will also take part in a Jamboree game held at the Coyotes Community Ice Center (CCIC), where they’ll play against another Kachinas Development team.
How long is the Kachinas Development Program season?
The Kachinas Development Program season typically spans 7 to 8 months, depending on your home rink. The season generally starts around September and runs through March or April, with scheduled breaks for holidays.
What’s the difference between the Kachinas Development and Elite programs?
The Kachinas Development Program includes two ice sessions per week and does not travel out of state. In contrast, the Kachinas Elite Program offers 3–4 ice sessions per week and participates in multiple out-of-state tournaments. This results in a wider range of pricing and commitment levels between the two programs.
